Wellington, FL – November 27, 2012 – G&C Farm is celebrating a successful 2012 season of competition and sponsorship, and they look forward to continuing in 2013. G&C Farm is one of the top sponsors in show jumping in North America, and in 2012 that expanded overseas to the Gucci Paris Masters show. G&C Farm looks forward to increased sponsorship in 2013 as well as supporting their riders, Rodrigo Pessoa, Luis Fernando Larrazabal, and Mark Bluman, at the top shows. G&C Farm is owned by Gustavo and Carolina Mirabal of Venezuela and based in Wellington, FL.

G&C Farm is sponsoring the Leading Rider Award at the Gucci Paris Masters, held November 30 – December 2. They will present a check to the top two riders at the five-star competition; the leading rider will receive 25,000 Euros, while the second place rider wins 5,000 Euros.

Gustavo Mirabal expressed, “We are excited to sponsor the Leading Rider Award at the Gucci Paris Masters. It is a stunning example of what an indoor show jumping event can be, and we are honored to present a special award for the riders.”

Rodrigo Pessoa stated, “Since the beginning of their sponsor relationships, G&C Farm has really tried to invest money in the sport and make it worthwhile for the riders. Their sponsorship is testimony that they are really concerned about making it better for the riders. It started in Wellington and Calgary with adding ROLEX FEI ranking classes and continues here in this new venture. The riders really appreciate their support of the sport as well as the bonus for them.”

In addition to the Gucci Paris Masters this week, G&C Farm is also sponsoring the $33,000 G&C Farm 1.45m class at the Holiday and Horses Show at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC).

Looking Ahead to 2013 Sponsorship

G&C Farm continues their sponsorship at PBIEC in 2013 at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF). They are the sponsor of the 1.45m Jumper division throughout the 12-week circuit, and many of those classes offer ROLEX FEI ranking points for riders and increased prize money.

They are the weekly sponsor during the CSIO week 8 of the FTI WEF, which includes the presenting sponsorship of the $75,000 FEI Nations Cup on Friday, March 1, and the title sponsorship of the $35,000 Puissance on Saturday, March 2.

“Our sponsorship at the FTI WEF is our most intensive,” said Mirabal. “We are proud to be a part of the best horse show in the United States.”

G&C Farm will also be the presenting sponsor of the 41st Gene Mische American Invitational, held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL, on April 6. The American Invitational is one of the most esteemed events on the show jumping circuit in the United States, and G&C Farm enjoys helping keep the tradition of this event alive.

2013 will be the fourth year that the $50,000 G&C Farm Rider’s Cup will be offered at the Spruce Meadows summer tournaments. G&C Farm created the $50,000 G&C Farm Rider Cup in 2010 to honor the top FEI level show jumpers during the summer series at Spruce Meadows. The award is calculated through accumulated points given to riders who compete in eligible competitions at the 1.50m and 1.60m divisions during the Summer Series. The top three athletes accruing the most G&C Farm Riders’ Cup Series Points at the “National”, “Continental”, “Canada One”, and “North American” Tournaments will be awarded the 2013 Championship Bonus on the final day of the “North American” Tournament.

Expanding their sponsorship reach in 2013 will include events in the Mirabals’ native country of Venezuela. G&C Farm has been sponsoring in the Central and South American regions for many years, and this coming year will include two horse shows in Venezuela.

Continuing Excellence in Competition

G&C Farm has been sponsoring up-and-coming grand prix riders Luis Fernando Larrazabal and Mark Bluman and they have had success at shows across the country this summer including victories in Vermont, Saugerties, Lake Placid, and Upperville. The G&C Farm riders are training with Helio and Rodrigo Pessoa and will be riding at the grand prix level at events in 2013.

Two new horses have joined the string at G&C Farm as well. Pessoa said, “We have been looking for several months for good young prospects. The focus has been on securing the best young ones that we could find, and we came across two we really liked. I think they’ll be a great addition to the string.”

G&C Carmela, a six-year-old mare by Indoctro, is “really special, careful, with a lot of blood and potential,” Pessoa described. G&C Consigliere, a seven-year-old gelding by Cavalier, will compete with Pessoa this winter, along with G&C Atlanta, who performed well in the 6 Year Old Young Jumper classes in Europe this summer.

Pessoa said, “I’m really excited to start competing in Florida and hopefully these young horses will be good winners for the farm.”

G&C La Gran and G&C Quick Star, two seasoned grand prix horses, will also be returning to the show ring. “I’ll be competing these two in Florida apart from the Double H Farm horses, which are my main horses in the big classes. They are my primary owner with horses of more experience,” Pessoa explained. Along with HH Rebozo, HH Ashley, and HH Let’s Fly, Pessoa will also have two top performers returning in HH Ciske and HH Rufus.

G&C Farm is excited for the 2013 season to help support the sport of show jumping along with their talented horses and riders.
